This is the largest national scientific calculation computer in Portugal and one of the largest international projects in advanced computing. The Milipeia will be at the disposal of more than 30 scientific projects from seven Portuguese universities and research centers. In total, 3.5 million hours of computing time spread over 34 scientific projects related to the areas of Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry / Biophysics, Mathematics, Chemistry Engineering and Computer Science. These projects will be developed at the Universities of Coimbra, Oporto, Aveiro, Évora and Algarve. Powered by Sun Microsystems Technology, of course.
